Review | Bloomlife Contraction Monitor
This post was a collaboration with Bloomlife. Of course, all opinions are my own.
I’ve made it to 34 weeks in my pregnancy! Now that I’m closer to meeting my little MJ, I can’t help but feel a little anxious. This isn’t anxiety because of a fear of loss or anything going wrong, but because I’m starting to think about labor, delivery and contractions. Let’s just be honest: this is where it get real! I’m so glad I teamed up with Bloomlife to get a better idea of what’s going on inside my belly as I get closer to my due date.
Bloomlife is a clinically-validated pregnancy sensor system that tracks your contractions and shows the results live via Bluetooth to your smart phone or device. This small at-home monitor is changing the way we listen to our bodies as we prepare for birth. If I’m being honest, I can use all the preparation I can get!
How Does It Work?
There are three parts to this tracker: an app, sensor and reusable patches, all included in the kit you receive. Simply insert the sensor into the patch, peel the the back from the patch and then place it three fingers below your belly button.
Once you download the app, your sensor will calibrate for your reading and then you can see your contractions in real time. For the best readings, stay seated in a comfortable position. After a one hour session, you can store your data to the app and compare contraction patterns, trends, and lengths. Oh, and don’t worry if you run out of the reusable patches. They will ship more to you at no additional cost.
My Experience and Honest Review
I started using Bloomlife at 32 weeks pregnant. This was also when I started to feel Braxton Hicks with tightness in my stomach coming and going every day. It wasn’t painful, but sometimes very uncomfortable. While using Bloomlife, I was able to see any contractions in real time on the Bloomlife app and many contractions that I didn’t even feel. Did you know that many women don’t realize that even small contractions they don’t feel can start weeks and days before active labor to help your body prepare for the real deal?
I think Bloomlife is a great tool to have, at least few weeks out from your due date because the sensor can record and track the frequency and duration of contractions. This can be really helpful in making confident conversations during doctor visits.
Is It Safe?
Bloomlife is 100% passive and does not send any energy to the body, unlike an ultrasound or doppler. It has passed both FCC and CE certification and proven safe for continuous use.
How Much Does It Cost?
Bloomlife is a weekly subscription service that is just $20/week. If you use the code: JUSTBBRITT10 you will receive 10% off weekly rental. Once you’re done using the sensor, you simply ship it back in the same box it arrived with a pre-paid shipping label.
