Buy Yourself Some Flowers

Self-care, for me, is about doing the tiny things that make you happy — and doing them every day, not waiting for your birthday or holidays or for someone else to make the decision. Buying fresh flowers for my desk every week is a new part of that self-care routine. I’ll be honest. I remember being the girl who didn’t really care about flowers because they die. Yet, anytime I received a surprise delivery, it made my day.

I think seeing such a beautiful arrangement wither away negated the initial excitement of receiving them. But when I replace them every week, it’s a refreshing reminder that even when good things come to an end, there is still beauty and excitement in something new.

Now, I buy myself flowers without waiting for someone else to do it, or for a special occasion. They don’t even need to break the bank either! I’ve paid less than $10 for each arrangement. Trader Joes, Walmart, Publix, Harris Teeter and Aldi are just a few stores that offer very reasonable prices for some fresh blooms. Just grab a vase from Dollar Tree, cut the stems and have fun creating your own arrangement.
