4 Ways to Enjoy Your Favorite Summer Fruit
The summer time brings all of the heat and some of my favorite fruit! In America, many fruits are available all year round, but it's really special when I get to indulge in fruits specific to the summer season: watermelons, nectarines, blueberries, pineapple, cherries, mangoes, limes and grapes are my favorites! Here are my top four ways to enjoy them.
1. Infuse Them.
One of the easiest ways to drink more water and incorporate your favorite fruit is to add fruit to your water. Thoroughly clean your favorite fruit, cut them up, and get creative with combinations to add to your favorite spring or purified water.
2. Plate Them.
No need to reinvent the wheel here. If you're having guests over, spending a day by the pool, or just have the time, grab a plate of your choosing and become an artist for five minutes. Cut up your favorite fruit and enjoy!
3. Grill Them.
Summer is barbecue season. While you're throwing your favorite meats or veggies on the grill, toss on a few pieces of fruit too. Peaches, nectarines, mangoes, and pineapples are my favorite treats. If you're in for a cheat, add them to some vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
4. Blend Them.
Smoothies are one of the most popular ways many people enjoy their fruit! These are also really great because you get a good serving of green veggies when you add spinach or kale. You can also get a good source of protein by adding your favorite protein mix or some yogurt. Just grab a blender (it doesn't need to be super expensive) and enjoy.
